Hiking in the Alps 17-18.7.1999.

aut_1794.jpg On Sunday morning we woke up around 8 o'clock, had breakfast and packed up the tents. After that we decided to take a closer look at the Glacier of Bionnassay.
aut_1797.jpg Near the glacier there was a nice little waterfall, the stream going mostly under the snow.
aut_1798.jpg At the railway station in 2300 meters another surprise was waiting: a goal of a running contest. It must do good to your health if you can make it.
aut_1801.jpg On our way down we stopped at Mont Lachat (2113 m) to have a look to the west over the valley. It was more cloudy than on Saturday, but still a nice view. I wonder if you can buy a summer cottage here for under one million Swiss francs...
aut_1802.jpg The other side of Mont Lachat was covered by bushes and we had to struggle our way through them.
aut_1806.jpg At about 1500 meters we were in the forest again. The vegetation was very similar to that in southern Finland, with spruces, alders and other familiar trees. Even the ground vegetation had many of the same elements, only blueberry bushes missing. The path here isn't the best example, though.
aut_1808.jpg Back at the village at 4 pm, free water. The trip was over, we were tired but happy.
