Saturday morning, time for the parade! Esa had his headphones on almost all the time.
Atte, Esa, Jani, Tero and I decided to be together. We chose an U-bahn (subway) that wasn't going directly through the center, but I was still surprised that we got so easily to the starting point of the parade. Evosonic was playing music before the start.
The idea is of the parade is to have dozens of trucks with powerful amplifiers and loudspeakers, each playing their own choice of music. Well - their own choice of techno music. People can then choose where to hang around and party. One of the trucks here.
...and another one here.
Jani, the Great Leader. :) Notice also the cool Entropy t-shirts. Compared to some other entropists this was still a very conservative look, Pasi topped the lot by his Hattivatti outfit with extra waving hands. Pity I didn't take pictures at the hotel in the morning.
Of course I had to pose for the camera too.
It began to get really crowded, you had to be careful not to get separated from your friends.
One of the coolest looks.
We spent quite a while behind this truck playing Detroit, here still trying to get there - it wasn't easy. Being right behind a truck is about the only way to actually be able to dance, or even move forwards.
An overview. It was estimated that about 1,5 million people took part in the parade.
Same spot, other direction, more people.
Finally we got behind the truck. It had even a shower service - a guy shooting with a Super Soaker in the back. Water guns were popular items in the parade, everybody were just happy to get some drops of cold water over them.
If the truck is called Smog, you gotta have some smoke, too.
