How to get to Helsinki
When you arrive in Helsinki, you will meet your host in the city
center or at her/his place.
By plane
to Helsinki-Vantaa airport:
- Single ticket by bus to the centre of Helsinki costs 3.60€ (bus nr.615/615T/615N) 30-40mins.
- HH or just ask a ride from other passenger at the airport/in the plane.
- Taxi to the city center costs about 30€, the Airport Taxi is a
little bit cheaper especially for 1-2 people.
to Tallinn (80km to south - over the sea):
- Ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki - lowest prices are 10-12€/one way but prices can change.
to Tampere (200km to north from Helsinki):
- HH or just ask a ride from other passenger at the airport (I do it all the time :-)
- We can try to arrange your ride with a HC member living in Tampere.
- Ryanair's bus from the Tampere airport to Helsinki 25€ - by train 20-25€ + 3,40-3,70€ bus to Railway station from the airport
- If you have a Finnish student card - train ticket will be half price.
