Our beloved cat Lizzy passed away late in the night on September 30th, 2025, in the age of 21,5 years. She brought us so much joy during the last seven years she lived with us.
In our memories we still see her sitting by her nap waiting for food, rolled into a furry ball sleeping in her tipi and lying belly up next to us on the sofa, purring and enjoying our hands gently stroking her.
As we moved into our new home in Füssen at the end of June last year, Lizzy was already 20 years old. For the first time in her life she had access to a garden which she explored with endless curiosity. She sniffled around the plants discovering all kinds of new smells and relaxed on the terrace. Even on her last day she did a brief walk outside in the sun.
During the last year Lizzy got increasing problems with her joints, sometimes even not being able to stay on her legs. However, she never lost her lust for life. With admirable endurance she patiently waited the worst to pass and the physiotherapist to come by, got up and walked again a day or two later. When she couldn't jump up on the chairs any more, she asked for a lift to sit at the breakfast table with us and enjoy a small piece of butter as her morning routine. With help of an extra step she was able to climb up on her favorite armchair until the very end.
Lizzy was always in a good mood and happy with what she had. You could touch her anywhere and she would never scratch or bite. It was always a pleasure to come back home and be greeted by her. The house feels empty now that she's gone. With tears in our eyes we thank for all the beautiful moments together and wish her all the best in the cats' heaven.
